Hp (Hewlett Packard) recently acquired the companies ArcSight, Fortify Software, and Tipping Point and with the technology that came with them have come out with a new security platform.
It seems that their move towards cloud computing and services has opened up a whole new world of security challenges. Cyber-Attackers are learning new tricks every day and HP wants to be able to adapt to changing security conditions. HP seems that companies tend to try to piece together a security system with products from various manufacturers. Sometimes, this software overlaps or leaves gaping holes in a system that can be exploited by those who are knowledgeable, and they are trying to make a comprehensive offering to those who need it. They also realize that all of the companies that would be buying the products from them already have measures in place, so HP is implementing these new services as a way to cover the holes created in the realm of mobile/cloud security. Some of the software is free to users of currently available products from the HP's new subsidiaries.
Looks like its a good idea to look into HP's new Products if you are in the market for a security upgrade.
