For a long time, especially back in the Microsoft Windows 95-2000 days, the only way to get really secure security software was to pay for it. Recently, Microsoft unveiled its own free software that you can use to protect your computer (along with other computers in a corporate setting) called Microsoft Security Essentials.
For a brief description of the Microsoft Security Essentials' purpose, I have provided a snippet from its Wikipedia page that describes this product in greater detail: "Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) is a free antivirus software product created by Microsoft that provides protection against different types of malware such as computer virus, spyware, rootkits and trojan horses for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7."
Microsoft Security Essentials can be a better choice than many other free third-party security applications, and I have listed the benefits below about why this software should be installed on your Windows machine (if you do not already have security software that you are utilizing already): - MSE Is Free - While registering and utilizing MSE, you (the end user) will not be asked for any payment information, nor will you be asked for it in the future while using this product.
- MSE Is User Friendly - This software package explains the terms to you not in extra-technical jargon, but in a way that helps you understand what the current state of protection your computer is in, and what you will need to do if a security issue arises.
- MSE Is Not a Resource Hog - Microsoft Security Essentials runs effortlessly within the background of your Windows session, and it does not tie up any resources that are specifically related to your computer's performance.
To download and install this quality security software package from the well-known software giant Microsoft, click here, and you will automatically be directed to the Microsoft Security Essentials website, which will guide you through the downloading and installation process.
