Enterprise security professionals who are interested in brushing up on topics related to service-oriented architecture and identity management may want to check their schedules. WSO2 intends to hold affordable, day-long workshops in three different U.S. cities before the end of March.
To get a few facts out of the way: the cost is $70 per person, assuming you don't qualify for any discounts, and the workshops will take place on March 22nd (in Arlington, Virginia), March 24th (in New York City), and March 29th (in Arlington, Texas). They should last from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Otherwise, the official site promised, "With data protection at the peak of scrutiny, identity and security are fundamental tools in the management of enterprise web applications. . . . We will demonstrate how enterprise architects and developers may overcome these challenges and gain insight in to key security standards and identity management for SOA."
Specific topics to be covered will include "Identity, Single sign-on, SAML2, OpenID, OAuth, Information Card," "Entitlement and Authorization - XACML," "How Governance affects your Security?" and "Best practices for securing your SOA, REST and Cloud (Patterns)."
Of course, as with every conference, there will be more happening than what's scheduled. Informal get-togethers and perhaps a party or two will provide attendees the chance to make contacts and swap more information.
So again, enterprise security professionals who are looking to learn something, have a bit of spare time and cash, and aren't hundreds of miles away should at least consider attending one of the workshops. Get-togethers of this nature are often shorter in length and much more expensive.
